Home 7
About this Project:
This kitchen is in a home that had not had an update for about 35 years. The period of the home had the kitchen separate from the formal dining room and completely closed off from the rest of the home. We removed everything in the kitchen and took the walls down to the studs. We removed the bulkheads that were originally over the cabinets to allow the new cabinets to go all the way to the ceiling for maximum storage. New flat panel cabinets give the kitchen an update while allowing it to still feel “period correct.” The slate backsplash and granite gave this kitchen and additional pop. Adding lights to the kitchen gave amble lighting that has been missing prior to the makeover. We also changed the 1960s oven out for new double oven and included a “pie refrigerator” for extra storage to accommodate the homeowner’s love of baking pies for charitable causes.
