The original deck had failed, as the decking had broken loose and the layout was disjointed. Creating the addition provided an opportunity for a sunroom and gracious light. By orienting the deck at an angle, this provided a creative way to access the lower level while also generating unique spaces for changing light as the sun moves through the day.
