Home #3 Silent Rivers Design+Build

About Project

This 1996 home received significant functional improvements and an aesthetic uplift to harmonize the family’s love of warm contemporary style with their existing oak woodwork. A clever kitchen design removed a wall that blocked views of their terraced landscape. A large, half-circle island now offers dining and conversation space surrounded by garden views. Since their home also serves as home office, the laundry room needed relocated out of the bathroom used by clients. A creative design solution delivered on their wish for a master bathroom laundry room. The 1990s fireplace was relocated and given a contemporary surround that continues to the vaulted ceiling for needed visual drama. Concrete countertops with integrated sinks, modern oak cabinets and earth-friendly Marmoleum floors come together beautifully with existing oak woodwork. The best surprise is the new custom entryway bench and coat “tree” that keeps this active family organized.
