Silent Rivers Design+Build is an award-winning design-build firm based in Des Moines, Iowa, serving Central Iowa since 1993. Founded by artist and entrepreneur Chaden Halfhill, the company was established to elevate “the art of building and the building of art.”

This beautifully crafted Stately Cottage combines timeless design with future-ready innovation. The energy-efficient construction features an all-electric layout including an induction range and EV charging. Designed to human scale, its intimate, well-proportioned spaces and thoughtful details—like built-ins and cozy nooks—foster a sense of calm, connection, and truly livable charm. Rooted in the sustainable goals of the development, this home frames serene views, manages stormwater responsibly, and incorporates native plantings to honor the prairie landscape and its connection to the distant waterway.
